Professor Sir John Burn on Drums!

We were recently invited to perform at an event for some of the world's leading Geneticists at The Gateshead Hilton and were delighted when Professor Sir John Burn, internationally renowned academic and keen drummer, agreed to join us on stage.  Sir John did a fantastic job playing three of the numbers in our set and guests were duly impressed with his performance which 'brought the house down'!

The Paul James Band featuring Laura Adams & Guitarist Phil Hudson, 30th March at Jesmond Dene House

Since being awarded 'European Young Soloist of the Year' Phil has gone on to tour and record with a host of names including Tina Turner, Beverley Craven, Mica Paris, Geri Halliwell, Omar and Blue.  After a busy year working with The Lighthouse Family and Heaven 17, Phil returns to reunite with his friends once again as guest soloist in The Paul James Band with a programme of Latin & Jazz standards.

We are delighted to announce that Phil will be performing with us on an increasing number of engagements throughout 2012.

Music from Ceremony to The Small Hours for Heather & Steven

When Heather and Steven booked their wedding at Wynyard Hall last year they contacted us immediately to organise a full range of live music for the day and night.  We worked closely with Heather to provide the right music for her ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast and evening do:

Metro Radio's Anna Foster Joins The Paul James Band

We were delighted to welcome our friend Anna Foster as a guest on stage with the band at our residency at Jesmond Dene House in June.  Anna chose a few Gershwin favourites to perform and 'wowed' the audience with her superb vocal talents.

Solo Sax and Solo Piano

Graham Brown, our saxophonist and keyboard/piano player, is now offering a unique service to clients who are looking for tasteful and sophisticated background music. He has recorded over a hundred solo piano tracks which he now uses as an accompaniment when playing solo saxophone. Graham's repertoire on the piano is almost unlimited and he is able to provide both instruments "... for the price of one". Jesmond Dene House, Wynyard Hall and Rockliffe Hall are just some of the venues who regularly book Graham to play solo sax and solo piano music for their Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Christmas Lunch etc events . iPad's expand our repertoire to over three hundred 'live' songs

Most bands offer a maximum of around 30 songs.  With over 300 vocal numbers and over 10,000 instrumentals we now offer far more than any band we know of.  We are able to perform hundreds of these pieces from memory and now have the written music for others, such as special requests, stored on our iPads further improving the service we offer to our clients.

'KEEP MUSIC LIVE'   All of our music is performed 100% 'live' - no Karaoke backing tracks.  This is not the case with several of the bands working in the region.
